Always Saving

Anthony Belavitch is a Conservation Coach for Walnut Creek Saves. He is one of several high school students who lead the program with the goal helping people save money on water and energy. Anthony helps offer free home consultations to Walnut Creek residents to check appliances, evaluate habits, and help people make simple changes in their daily lives that will save water, energy and money.

Learning on the Job

Anthony Belavitch has really enjoyed being a Conservation Coach for Walnut Creek Saves and seeing other people appreciate the work that we do. It is really rewarding when people say that they went through with the consultation and are now saving more money on their water and electricity bills. Hearing this makes him feel like what we are doing is really helping. It is amazing to give back to the community and help save the environment.

Water Guide: Graphene sieve

Today, Anthony Belavitch is going to talk about a new invention that could make seawater drinkable. The invention was discovered by scientist in the UK and it is called a graphene sieve. Making seawater drinkable would be huge! Less than 1% of water on Earth is drinkable, but the Earth is comprised of 97% salt water!
